Dan Mazzucco, Ph.D., President and Chief Technical Officer
Dr. Mazzucco has worked in the medical device industry for the past ten years. Prior to joining ZSX Medical, Dr. Mazzucco served as Director of Regulatory Affairs and Project Management at Aqumen Biopharmaceuticals, a Japanese ophthalmic biotechnology company. Hired as the second employee in the North American subsidiary, Dr. Mazzucco directed manufacturing, preclinical, clinical, and regulatory development. Dr. Mazzucco managed the lead product from initial manufacturing activities through initial pre-NDA validation work and from first pre-IND meeting through Phase III clinical trials. Prior to his work at Aqumen, Dr. Mazzucco provided technical consulting to both established and early-stage medical device companies at Exponent, Inc. Dr. Mazzucco earned a doctorate in medical and mechanical engineering in the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology.
Eric Rugart, Founder, Chief Operations Officer
Eric Rugart is the CEO of Feta Med, Inc., a medical supply business servicing the perinatal care community. Mr. Rugart has an extensive entrepreneurial pedigree. Prior to owning and operating Feta Med, Mr. Rugart had run a financial service company and chaired a technology transfer corporation. Mr. Rugart is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.
