Mark Nicosia

Mark Nicosia, Ph.D., is the chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department in the Widener University School of Engineering (Chester, PA). Dr. Nicosia’s expertise is in soft tissue biomechanics. He has published research on the biomechanics of such varied tissues as esophageal, heart valve, oral, and aortic, among others. He has also conducted research in computer modeling of wound closure by sutures. Prior to his professorship at Widener University, Dr. Nicosia had been an engineering consultant at Exponent, Inc.,
and, prior to that, an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at University of Minnesota.

Bob Cargill

Bob Cargill, Ph.D., P.E., is a Principal at Cargill Bioengineering, LLC., in
Thorofare, NJ. Dr. Cargill is an expert in the conceptualization, design, analysis, and evaluation of tissue engineered products and related devices. Dr. Cargill has lectured in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University and the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Orthopaedics at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Cargill was on the academic faculty at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Clinical Advisors:

Hope Ricciotti

Hope Ricciotti, M.D., is an associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and
reproductive biology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Ricciotti practices obstetrics and gynecology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She is a contributor to many magazines and is co-author of several cookbooks and women’s health textbooks. Dr. Ricciotti oversees medical students and residency education in obstetrics, gynecology, and women's health at Harvard Medical School. Her other research projects include evaluating innovative methods of medical education using virtual patients and simulation for training medical students and residents.

Alexander Anthopoulos

Alexander Anthopoulos, M.D., is a board-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist in private practice since 1992 with the Main Line Health System in suburban Philadelphia, PA. As a member of a busy group practice,  Dr. Anthopoulos has had extensive experience caring for low and high risk pregnant patients in both the office setting and in the labor and delivery suite, as well as performing major and minor gynecologic surgical procedures in the operating room.  He also has been involved with the training of Ob-Gyn and Family Medicine residents and medical students.
